Is Norse Atlantic Airways worth it? You are probably reading this because you want to know if you should book the budget Norwegian flight for your trip. I flew with Norse Atlantic Airlines from London to New York during the summer and got it at a great price. I had been wanting to try them for a while and decided to book with them. This is my honest Norse Atlantic Airways review of my experience flying with them.
Booking Online
I booked via the Norse Airline website. it was straight forward and I went ahead for the economy light ticket which came with a 10kg hand luggage and personal bag. I paid to add a 23kg suitcase to my ticket which was also straight forward. You can also pay to add food, pay to choose your seat etc on top of your economy light ticket or you can go ahead and book preium economy which has a larger seat and legroom along with food, accessories etc. Norse Atlantic fly to other cities in the US and they also do a lot of promos throughout the year so may want to sign up to notifications from them.
Check In & Luggage
Check in was opened 4 hours before take off and because I had economy light there was no check in online for me only economy premium and above can check in online. They are very strict at check in so make sure you hour suitcases are within the dimensions of the airline for all bags. Please check Norse Atlantic website for the dimensions and weight your bags should be so that you don’t get charged at the airport.
The Flight
The flight took 7 hours and we didn’t have any delays. The plane was a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, in economy seats were set up 3-3-3 and in premium economy the seats 2-2-2. In economy the seats are economical if that’s the best way to put it, if you are really purchasing a particular seat may be best for you which you can pay extra for at check out or just get a premium economy ticket.
On the flight you do not get given food, blanket, pillow, earphones etc unless you have paid for it via a premium economy ticket or as an add on. I honestly thought I would be given earphones but nothing is given unless you pay for it not even water.
There is an inflight booklet with options of what can be purchased and you can also look on your TV screen. There was a range of entertainment provided on the TV’s, they may not be the latest movies but I think they were pretty decent. There was also a usb socket for charging your phones etc. The flight overall was smooth.
Customer Service
My interaction with staff was limited as I didn’t get served food or really need any help with anything. At checkin staff were friendly but as I said they are very strict with luggage so keep that in mind.
Price
I paid £360 for a flight in September which included check in bags but had to cancel due to personal commitments I was given a flight voucher to use and so decided to use it in June instead where I paid £460 which included check in bags. Honestly their flights are decently priced for the budget minded traveller and can be a good option.
Overall
Personally I would fly with them again if I needed to stay within a certain budget or if the flight price was incredibly competitive. I think it’s a great option for budget conscious travellers and would 100% travel with them and can recommend them!
