Hike the Cinque Terre Trail

If you want to witness some of the most spectacular views and the most stunning villages, then you will want to put this destination on our bucket list. The 12km trail stretches from Riomaggiore to Monterosso. If you don’t quite want to do a hike this long, then you have nothing to worry about. The whole trail is broken up into segments so you can simply hike from one town to the next. You can also make the decision to get the train to the next town over if you feel like the hike is getting too much. If you want to hike the trail then you need to make sure that you have some good boots, a lot of stamina and of course, no fear of heights. If you want to cycle, then why not explore the idea of a Sicilian cycling holiday? This is ideal for those who like to stay active when they are out and about.

Ride a Gondola along the Grand Canal

This may be one of the biggest cliches in Venice but at the end of the day, nothing can quite compare to riding a gondola. It is also one of the best things you can do in Italy as well. Finding a gondolier is very easy as they tend to gather alongside the Grand Canal. You will also be able to spot them via their white striped shirts too. They will be your guide and you may find that they converse a bit to find out if you are comfortable with their command of the English language. It’s important to know that the prices are set, but you can pay a tip at the end if you find that you are super happy with the service.

Tour the Tuscan Hills

The Tuscan countryside is best enjoyed at a leisurely pace. It is very easy for you to stop and explore some of the smaller settlements that are between the bigger towns, and you may also find that some of them crown the hilltops as well. if you drive, then you will soon find that you can cover a lot of ground in a very short space of time. That being said, by riding your bike, you may find that you are able to get up close and personal and you can notice way more details too.

So, there are many things that you can do while in Italy but if you want to make the most out of your trip, it is helpful to plan out which activities you intend to do in advance. If you can do this, then you will find it easier to have the best time.
