Tenerife is the largest island of the Canary Islands and is an amazing destination located off the shore of Africa. Tenerife is the home of beautiful and diverse landscapes, delicious food and friendly locals.  If you are visiting soon or are just wondering what things you can get up to here are 8 amazing things to do in Tenerife!

1. Explore San Cristobal de la Laguna

San Cristóbal de La Laguna is a city in the northern part of Tenerife. It is a UNESCO world heritage site and is full of history as the first established city in the Canary islands. You can stroll along the streets, enjoy the architecture, grab a drink or explore the history.

 

2. Watch The Sunset at Mount Tiede National Park

Mount Tiede is a volcano that is the highest point in Tenerife and the whole of Spain! This is an the iconic location in Tenerife. Teide National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can enjoy range of flora and fauna here, ride the Teide Cable Car, hike to the summit point or visit the observatory. The views here are amazing but don’t forget to pack a jumper and a coat as it can get quite chilly here.

3. Kayaking at Los Gigagantes with Teno Activo

Go on an unforgettable sea kayaking adventure by the Los Gigantes cliffs with Teno Activo. Enjoy the views and discover the beautiful landscape while kayaking. You will also have time to take a dip if you are comfortable to that do that. You will spend about 2 hours on this excursion and I think its well worth it, don’t forget to wear sunscreen!

4. Wine Tasting at Bodega El Lomo

Wine tasting at Bodega El Lomo is superior in many ways. Located in the Tegueste Valley this a top place to go through the different stages of wine making. Different wines are paired with different wines and

5. Hiking at Anaga Rural Park

Anaga Rural Park is a Biosphere Reserve and covers the mountain range Anaga Country Park covers much of the mountain range located on the north-west of the Island. If hiking is your thing then you have to visit here enjoy

6. SUPing at El Medano

El Medano is a laid back beach town in Tenerife which is popular with locals and windsurfers. If you would like to try SUPing then El Medano is the place to be. You can also spend time walking the streets of El Medano or grab a sun bed and relax.

 

7. Spot The Street Art in Puerto De La Cruz

Puerto de la Cruz is located on the north coast of Tenerife and is the perfect place to relax, grab some food and spot some street art. There is a volcanic-sand beach and on the seafront is Lago Martiánez a saltwater pool designed by architect César Manrique. Stop by here to relax and have a good time.

 

8. Whale Watching with Big Smile Charter Boats

This amazing experience is well worth it! You can spot whales and dolphins on board this luxury boat. You can choose a shared or private boat and its a lovely way to spot these amazing creatures.
